Work on Aurora Bypass Road Begun

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started work on a diversion road aimed at providing an alternate route to the province of Aurora whose main thoroughfares are beset by landslides and floodings during the monsoon season.

The 36-kilometer diversion road bypasses three mountainous areas along the Pantabangan-Canili Road and will connect central Aurora to Central Luzon. The first phase of the P60-million project, the initiative of Sen. Edgardo Angara, will be finished in December according to DPWH.

The "San Luis-Maria Aurora-Castaeda Road" will interconnect the 36-kilometer highway route from Barangay Hiwalayan in San Luis, through Baubo, Maria Aurora and Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya, on the way to Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija.
