Angara Siblings Launch Dingalan Housing Project

Through the efforts of Sen. Edgardo Angara and his sister Gov. Bellaflor Angara-Castillo, typhoon-ravaged residents of Dingalan, Aurora will benefit from a housing project which had its groundbreaking ceremony last January 8.

900 housing units will be initially built in Dingalan as resettlement for those residents who homes were destroyed by the typhoons last December. A total 2,500 units are planned to be completed by June.

The housing project marks the start of a rebuilding and reconstruction program that was initiated by the Angara siblings.

"With adequate help and support, the typhoon victims can rise from this tragedy, rebuild their lives and start anew," said the senator.

Assisting the Angaras in the project are the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Gawad Kalinga, Ateneo de Manila, and the Municipality of Dingalan.

Aside from housing, the project also provides for food production, livelihood support and health services all for the benefit of the typhoon victims.
