Quezon Park

Nestled in the heart of Poblacion, Baler, Quezon Park is one of the town’s most cherished public spaces – a quiet green plaza where history, community life, and local heritage meet. The park is named in honor of Manuel L. Quezon, the second President of the Philippines and a towering figure in the country’s struggle for independence. Quezon was born in Baler in 1878, making the town his birthplace and a significant site in Philippine political history.

Developed around the town’s central plaza area, Quezon Park has long served as a civic space for gatherings, celebrations, and commemorative events. Over the years, it has been enhanced with monuments and markers honoring the town’s heritage, including tributes connected to Baler’s history and its most famous son. In 2011, a prominent monument was unveiled in the plaza area to mark Baler’s historic milestones and celebrate its legacy.
