Casiguran Kulinarya Competition

Celebrate Tourism Month by putting your signature flavors in the spotlight! We are inviting local eateries to showcase their best gourmet viand inspired by Casiguran’s rich culinary heritage.

Entry Requirements

  • Featured Dish: Present one (1) local gourmet viand currently on your establishment’s active menu.
  • Plating: Prepare three (3) plated portions for the judging panel.
  • Free Taste: Provide additional small portions for the public tasting activity.

Competition Guidelines

  • Venue: Brgy. Lual Covered Court
  • Date: September 9, 2026
  • Time Limit: 2 hours
  • Rules: All prepping and cooking must take place on-site. Pre-cooked, pre-prepared, or partially cooked ingredients/dishes are strictly prohibited.

  • 1st Place: Php 5,000
  • 2nd Place: Php 4,000
  • 3rd Place: Php 3,000
  • Consolation: Php 2,000

Food Establishment Category – Terms of Reference / General Guidelines

 1. Eligibility The competition is open to local food establishments operating in the Municipality of Casiguran, Aurora. Only five (5) teams/food establishments shall be accepted on a first-qualified, first-registered basis.

2. Entry Each participating establishment shall prepare and present one (1) gourmet local viand inspired by the culinary heritage of Casiguran. The entry must be currently offered and available for order at the participating establishment. The dish may be a traditional recipe or a modern interpretation, provided that it highlights locally sourced ingredients and reflects the municipality’s culinary identity.

3. Quantity of Food to be Prepared Each team shall prepare sufficient quantity of their entry for: 

              • Three (3) plated servings for judging; and

              • Small servings for the Free Taste Activity after the judging.

4. Ingredients and Preparation Participants are encouraged to use fresh, locally sourced, and sustainable ingredients. The use of indigenous products and traditional cooking methods is highly encouraged. All cooking and food preparation must be done at the designated competition venue. No pre-cooked, pre-prepared, or partially cooked dishes shall be brought to the venue. Participants may bring raw and properly prepared ingredients needed for cooking, but all cooking, assembly, and final preparation of the entry must be completed during the competition. Participants shall provide their own cooking equipment, utensils, tables, and other materials necessary for the preparation and presentation of their entry.

5. Cooking Time Each team shall be given two (2) hours to prepare, cook, and plate their entry. All food preparation and cooking must be completed within the prescribed time.

6. Criteria for Judging Taste and flavor 45% Creativity and Originality 15% Presentation and Plating 20% Relevance to Casiguran’s Culinary Heritage 20% TOTAL 100%

7. Prizes • 1st Prize – Php. 5,000 • 2nd Prize – Php. 4,000 • 3rd Prize – Php. 3,000 • Consolation Prize – Php. 2,000

8. Documentation and Use of Entries By joining the competition, participants grant the Municipality of Casiguran the non-exclusive right to document, photograph, reproduce, and promote their dishes for official tourism promotion and related activities.

9. Finality of Decision The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final and irrevocable. Registration Note Only five (5) qualified food establishments will be accepted. Registration does not automatically guarantee participation. Confirmation of participation shall be sent by MTICAO upon verification of the submitted registration details.
