The Millennium Tree in Maria Aurora, Aurora is a giant and ancient balete tree believed to be around 600 years old. Located in Balete Park, Brgy. Quirino, it’s known as one of the biggest balete trees in Asia. The tree stands about 60 meters tall, and its wide trunk can take up to 60 people holding hands to fully circle it. What makes it special is the large hollow inside its roots—you can actually walk inside the tree, and it can fit around 10 to 15 people at once. Locals believe it’s a mystical tree, with stories of spirits living inside it.

When I visited the Millennium Tree in Baler, Aurora, I was blown away by its sheer size and age - it felt surreal stepping inside the hollow trunk of this 600-year-old giant and imagining all the history it has silently witnessed.

The walk inside the tree was creepy at times, especially with old tales of white ladies, nuno sa punso and other mythical creatures. But the guide was hilarious! Also a great director for memorable pictures and videos!
